3/21/25: Weekly Recap of Headlines We Found Interesting
Passing of a Legend
For those of us in the "multi-generational" and "investment" business, Daniel Kahneman's death was sad news. One of the great thinkers in behavioral finance and bias identification, Daniel Kahneman's decision to end his own life in Switzerland will be discussed for decades.
The recent news that his passing was part of a deliberate thought process is both doubly sad, and not surprising at the same time. Jason Zweig of the The Wall Street Journal adds his wisdom and experience with Daniel to put some context around the final choice of one of the ultimate authorities on human decision-making.
As we digest the passing of one of the industry lions, what we (as advisors) will learn from Daniel's passing will be interesting to follow.
